Overview
Qingdao LNG was Sinopec's first LNG project. On 14 November 2014, the first LNG carrier, Coronis, arrived and the terminal formally entered operation.
On 10 January 2022, two new send-out routes, the Kunlun Shihua BOG line and the Qingning pipeline, were commissioned together, marking the full operation of the terminal's phase III project and creating an integrated outbound system with two BOG routes and three trunklines. On 2 November 2023, the terminal commissioned the world's largest LNG storage tank and China's first 270,000 m3 LNG tank. On 2 June 2024, it used its dual-berth jetty configuration to complete China's first simultaneous LNG vessel gassing-up trial and cargo discharge operation, opening a new operating model for LNG storage and logistics assets. In 2023, Qingdao LNG ranked third among Chinese LNG terminals by total discharge volume.
